THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO VOTE!

Voters elect Buscaglia as town justice

Kara Buscaglia has garnered 53 percent of the votes to Council Member Barbara Nuchereno’s 47  percent. Results have been reported all of the districts.

It appears that Buscaglia, who is leading the race by more than 1,300 votes, will become the first woman in the history of Amherst to serve as judge.

Nuchereno ran on the Republican line, while Buscaglia was on the Democratic, Conservative, Working Families and Independence lines.

Current Town Justice Mark Farrell decided not to run for re-election.

The justice post carries a four-year term.
